Afro Mziki WordPress Theme

Afro Mziki is a dark, music-first WordPress theme made for African music websites. It suits sites that stream songs, publish new releases, and offer downloads. The design is bold and cinematic, with gold accents, large artwork, and a player that stays at the bottom of the screen while visitors browse.

Homepage The homepage opens with a spotlight of your latest tracks. Each slide has a large backdrop, the title and artist, Play and View buttons, and the cover art. The slides rotate automatically and pause when the visitor hovers over them.

Below the spotlight are:

Browse by genre, using your categories Popular artists, a scrolling strip ranked by total plays Latest tracks, in a grid or list, with a Load more button that adds tracks without reloading the page Category sections and sidebar charts for trending tracks Track pages Each track page shows the artwork, title, artist, genre, and play button. Featured artists are listed alongside the main artist. A Main category can be set for each post, so the right genre appears on cards, track pages, and search results. Visitors can download tracks, and downloads are counted. Related tracks appear at the bottom of the page.

Footer player The player stays fixed at the bottom of every page, so music keeps playing as visitors browse. It includes:

Play, pause, previous, and next Seek bar with a waveform Volume control, mute, and playback speed Shuffle and repeat modes An "Up next" queue Remembered position and volume between pages Long titles scroll so they stay readable Hours are shown for long mixes (for example, 1:00:00) On phones, the player is compact. The artwork sits beside the waveform, and the controls stay on one line.

Audio ads You can play short audio ads between songs. Set how often an ad plays (for example, after every 5 songs), the ad's audio file, optional ad text and link, and how many seconds before the SKIP button appears. Everything is set in the admin.

Search and browsing Search results appear as you type, with matches for tracks, artists, and genres. There are also pages for all artists and all genres. The blog page is separate from the homepage, so you can use either design.

Admin panel Settings are grouped into clear pages:

Dashboard: setup status and quick links Header: logo, logo size for desktop and mobile, navigation, and the search button Homepage: which sections appear and how many tracks each shows Player: playback behaviour, volume, and speed Audio ads: the ad schedule and audio file Ads: ad-network code slots for the homepage, track pages, and sidebar Track statistics: views and downloads per track Track details, including the audio file, download link, and artist, are set in the track editor.

Mobile The theme is designed for phones first. The header centres the logo, the spotlight runs edge to edge, and the player is compact. Tap targets are large enough for touch, and layouts adjust across tablet and phone sizes.

Technical notes Built on WordPress, with PHP for templates, admin settings, and AJAX. Vanilla JavaScript with no framework, so pages load quickly. Plain CSS with variables and responsive layouts. No external fonts or third-party scripts are loaded by default. Optional edge-cache headers for anonymous visitors.
